EXPLORING QUTUB MINAR

Qutub minar is a very famous historical monument that attracts the tourists from various parts of the world and the local tourists as well. The minaret is located in Mehrauli, south Delhi, India. Just 9 kms from Indira Gandhi international airport, 15 kms from New Delhi railway station and 25 kms from Inter State Bus Terminal.

It was built in 13th century by Qutab ud din Aibak firstly and then completed by Iltutmish.

A 73 mtrs tall minaret has 14 mtrs diameter,5 storeys and near about 379 steps of spiral staircase, built with red sandstone is really amazing and astonishing masterpiece. Once you enters and make your first look at it,believe me you will not blink your eye for a while. There is a mosque ' Quwwatul Islam 'near to it, many graves ,a metal pillar named 'Ashoka Stumbh' and some other monuments in the complex are quite attracting.

Design, architecture, craftsmanship, material used is really fantastic. Centuries passed, uncountable seasons and weathers, different climates and natural calamities but,the structure stood still.

Now,in my humble opinion, i must say, one should visit to this magnificent monument. It's quite rushy on sundays or any holiday.      Better book the entry tickets online as it's quite difficult to get tickets from the long queues.  Ticket for 15 years below age is free, 40 Rs for adults,  for foreigners the price of the ticket is 550 Rs. The parking charge is quite low 10 Rs per hour.Canteen near the ticket counter is good and you get the food and eatables in reasonable price. Public conveniences also quite good. One important thing, my humble opinion and request is ,please book a guide inside the complex as these people are poor and tells you something more interesting and exciting..

Hoping this blogg will make you desiring to visit the 'Qutub Minar'

Thanks

Have a nice day.
