THE QUALITIES OF A GOOD VOTER
1. Citizenship and Age : A voter should be a citizen of that particular jurisdiction where he/she is going to caste their vote. It is must and a basic requirement for a person to take participation in the local or national elections. People living abroad having Indian citizenship usually come and participae in the general elections as they are very much concerned about the ⁸wellness of their country. Being a citizen or having the citizenship is a privilege and a proud feeling for a person to select the desired candidate as their leader by voting. Besides citizenship a person should be of 18 years or the age required for voting as in many countries 18 years is the minimum age for voting. Like the same age is required for the driving licence or getting some other important facilities from the government. It is accepted that an 18 year old person is a matured one who can take the decisions wisely.
2. Knowledge and information : Having a good knowledge about your locality as well as your nation is very essential for a voter. Nowadays,in the rapid growth of news channels and social media,it is quite easy to be acknowledged about the things going around in your environment. The development of your area,the political activities,government policies, problems of your area,the political background and character of the candidate is must to be known by a good voter so that he/she can caste the vote accordingly. There are so many people or voters who even doesn't know the proper name of the candidate and they just vote in the name of political party. Likewise so many voters give their votes to their known or familiar person without knowing his/her capabilities and dedication for the area,locality or the nation. Before voting one should get the proper knowledge and information about the character, qualification,capability,experience,dedication,background and other necessary qualities of the candidate. Casting your vote without having any knowledge or information is mere wasting your vote and this is really very bad not only for you but for the entire nation.
3. Caring for locality and nation : We all love our nation and our locality and definately we do care for it as well. For that love and care you have to choose and select the perfect person who can manage and control the judiciary system very well. Only you better know the problems and contingencies of your locality as well as only you better know the remedies and solutions for it. The chosen MLA, MP,Senator or any officer can only execute the order for work and development in your area but, only you have to show the actual conditions of that place and the public problems as well. Your caring is the only thing that indulges you to choose the right person for solving the problems of your locality. Perhaps you have good relations with the candidate but you know very well that he/she can't control the judiciary system or can't understand and solve the problems of your locality. In that situation you will never caste your vote to that candidate. That is what we call your care for your locality. The same thing is implied for your nation too. A developed nation is always in the hand of the people or public who cares and loves their nation.
4. Daring and fearless : Election time is also a time of festival as so many people enjoys it. Moving around in rallies, parties, functions, food and drinks distribution and so many other things to attract the public by the candidates. Besides this ,many candidates also use some other tricks like threats and provocating the public in hidden forms. A good voter doesn't and never care about such situations as he/she is a daring and fearless one to face it and choose the right person. In many places and more often a criminal lobby is assigned at the time of election to threat and diversify the minds of the voters. There are so many examples when people sacrificed their lives but they didn't bow down in front of these criminal deeds of the candidates. Election is the time when the candidates and their parties usually crosses all the limits just to get vote. Votes in the name of caste and religion is one of the basic weapon for the electoral parties. Above all, a fearless and caring voter confronts all the situations just for the sake of people, locality and for the nation.
5. Social connectivity with parties : No political party is good or bad but,some people in the parties are. Political parties have different visions and have the different manifestos. Being a good voter,one should respect all the parties and must have a good relation with them. With these good links you can put your problems and your demands in front of the leaders wether they belongs to the winning party or they are from the losing party. Many times it has been observed that the work which is not being cognign by the ruling party is done by the pressure and criticism of the opposition party. Moreover, good connections with the political parties can be useful to make them aware from the actual problems of the public. This leads the candidate to make the changes in their manifestos and the promises to the public. No matter which party hast lost or which is going to rule. The good social connection with all the parties of the voters are always be recognized and quite helpful.
6. Social connectivity with locals :"Man is social animal". Yes we have our own ways and methods of living yet we live in a society. Good people have good connections and relations with others. Likewise, a good voter must have the good connections and relations with the neighbourhood and the entire locality as well. With these good connections you can easily convince the public of your locality to caste their votes to the right and desired candidate. The great leaders in the world started their political career with the help of their local connections and support. Having good connections with the locals can help you to put the demands in front of the candidate along with the public. Good social connectivity can create a team a group which can make the necessary decisions about to which party or candidate they should choose for the welfare of their locality and for their nation respectively. Sooner or later may be such group or team can make their own political party as it has been seen in many places of the world. Therefore, a good voter should always be connected with the society for its welfare.
7. Choosing the right person : Choosing and selecting the right person is quite typical task for the voter. Every political party and the candidates make strong promises, everyone acts and behave like the true friends the well wisher, every leader shows the extreme sympathy and care for the public,every candidate pretends that he/she is ready to be sacrificed for the public. Significantly,who is actually caring and the right one is very difficult but not impossible to choose. A voter should see and check some following points before choosing the right cacandidate;
a, the political background of the candidate.
b, the criminal background of the candidate.
c, the qualification of the candidate.
d, social contribution of the candidate.
e,nature and character of the candidate.
f,capabilities and dare of the candidate.
g,dedication and patience of the candidate etc. Besides this,talking style dressing sense are quite optional.
8. Feeling of National harmony : A voter do not not just vote for his/her particular area or locality but,he/she has to vote for the sake and wellness of the entire nation too,in the bigger elections. We all love our country and precisely we all will never give the power of our entire nation in the wrong hands. Most of the voters oftenly says that they only have to see their locality,the water, electricity and development problems needs to solved first as they are the basic necessities. It is just a matter of few or some people but what about the others,your brothers and sisters living in the same country. Thinking for them,caring for them is a true nationalism and a part of national harmony. A good voter always think wisely and choose the candidate accordingly. For example, X party is quite good for a particular locality but it can't control the bigger system of the entire nation and for that Y party is capable, although both the parties are fighting for both the elections big and small. Now,It is very simple to choose the X party for the local and Y party for the national elections. Besides, you have good concern with the X party but,for the sake and harmony of the nation, you should choose the Y party. In simple words,the development,integrity and the harmony of a nation is in the hands of the good voters and by the wisdom of the good voters as well.
9. Regularity in voting : My last but not the least point is about the regular voting by the voters. There are different criteria and different periods of elections in every country. Election for village or town head, for state minister/senator and for the county president or prime minister. Maybe some more elections are scheduled too,like for an organisation, department, university etc. Being a good voter one should vote always on time without any negligence or skipping. A single vote can change the victory into a defeat and your single vote can change the future of your locality ,state and even your nation. It is very commonly said that ,the rich people don't care about voting,the poor people are quite unaware but,only the middle class takes it seriously. A good voter knows the power of a single vote that can make a lot of change in the society. People use to come from far distances just to caste their vote for the welfare of their nation and they are always a regular voter. A good voter always take participate in each and every election will full enthusiasm.
